A newly built megamansion on Los Angeles’s Bel-Air Country Club is set to hit the market on Monday for $65 million.
The approximately 18,000-square-foot spread was completed last year after seven years of construction, but the seller held off on immediately listing the home to ensure every detail was how it should be.
“No one would build to this level of quality, detail and design and spend that much time—and, frankly, money—if it was purely on spec,” Parnes said. “He did build it for himself, and when you build something for yourself, you see it through a different lens.”
The home was designed by architect Manuel Manuelian, who collaborated with architecture firm Tag Front and designers Plus Design Group.
The Chalon Road home is set on the 12th fairway of Bel-Air Country Club. From the street, almost nothing can be seen of the newly listed home, thanks to tall hedges and a gated driveway, ensuring total privacy. But the view from the golf course reveals a sprawling contemporary-style mansion, with three levels of indoor-outdoor living and natural elements like succulents and cascading plants.
“It’s a very calming atmosphere,” Parnes said.
The home’s seven bedrooms include a white-oak-paneled primary suite that was designed as a “self-contained retreat,” with a sitting room, a fireplace, a wet bar, a bathroom with a stone soaking tub, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that slide away to reveal a private fire pit area with water features. There’s also a secondary primary suite with a Zen garden.
A dedicated wellness wing on the lower level is packed with amenities, including an indoor lap pool, a hot tub, a cold plunge, a sauna, a steam room and access to the indoor-outdoor gym.
Steps from the lower level lead down to the outdoor pool, which overflows to create a waterfall effect. It’s surrounded by several seating areas, a sunken fire pit lounge and an outdoor kitchen, photos show. The grounds feature lavender, olive and rosemary gardens.
