An A-List Talent Agent Bought Johnny Galecki’s Storied Hollywood Hills Estate

Turns out the spendy buyers who recently paid more than $11 million for “Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki’s storied Hollywood compound have a storied Hollywood history of their own. One of them is Maha Dakhil Jackson, the veteran talent agent who reps a slew of A-list stars — Tom Cruise, Ava DuVernay, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman and her best friend Madonna, just to name a few.

Jackson, who is also the co-head of film and a board member at talent juggernaut Creative Artists Agency (CAA), is married to fellow industry heavyweight Matt Jackson, a longtime film producer (“All the Old Knives,” “Molly’s Game,” “End of Watch”) who recently signed a first-look deal with global film and TV studio Fifth Season.

Located on a rare double lot in the desirable Outpost Estates enclave, the Jackson estate was originally acquired by Galecki in 2015 for $9.2 million. It was previously owned by Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and before that by Ben Stiller, who enlisted design firm Roman and Williams to give the 1920s estate a comprehensive restoration and expansion. Another former owner is “La Bamba” actor Lou Diamond Phillips.

Walled and gated, the half-acre property features a two-story main house and detached guesthouse that together offer 7,400 square feet of living space. Behind a riotous collection of tropical plantings, stairs lead down from the street to the 1920s Spanish-style compound, which flaunts antique fixtures, restored terracotta tilework and an original speakeasy pub.

Other highlights include a billiard room, chef’s kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, a movie theater and several decadently ornate original fireplaces. Three bedrooms are located on the main home’s upper level, the master offering a private balcony, dual closets and marble-swaddled bathroom. The two-bedroom guesthouse sits directly above the two-car garage and overlooks lush lawns, several tree-shaded patios, an outdoor kitchen and mosaic-tiled pool and spa.

For nearly a decade, the Jacksons have owned a 1920s Spanish-style home in the Beachwood Canyon neighborhood; unsurprisingly, that house has just popped up for sale, asking $5 million. As for Galecki, he’s moved from Los Angeles to Nashville, reportedly to a newly-purchased ranch on the outskirts of Music City.
