A midcentury LA home designed by architect Richard Kearney has just landed on the market for $6,995,000. Kearney completed the four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home in 1962, one of several he worked on in Sunset Hills. According to the listing with Andrew Rhoda of Carolwood Estates, 1155 Sunset Hills Road is a hallmark of Kearney’s style in its use of prefabricated materials, dramatic cantilevers, and modular configurations. It’s also emblematic of his fascination with the neighborhood’s dramatic terrain.

A spiral staircase connects the terrace to a private deck and saltwater pool, while a downstairs hideaway includes a guest bedroom, a family room, a built-in bar, and direct access to the carport. The house is currently owned by businesswoman and philanthropist Jamie Tisch, founder of Pitkin Projects and cofounder of the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
