A little more than four years after British singer and songwriter Leona Lewis scooped up a Spanish-style villa with picturesque views framing the entire Los Angeles Basin, the X Factor winner best known for the 2007 hit Bleeding Love has decided to part ways with her home in the steep hills high above Studio City, asking a speck under $4 million. The residence, which is listed by Benjamin Stewart-Kruger of Carolwood Estates.
Previously owned by controversial YouTube celebrity Shane Dawson, who put the place on the market in 2019 after he and husband Ryland Adams bought a mansion farther out in the suburbs, it sold in May of that year for $2 million to fashion exec Maria Tomei Borromeo. She proceeded to completely renovate the spread before flipping it to Lewis and her choreographer-turned-entrepreneur husband Dennis Jauch in 2021 for $2.6 million.
The undeniable star of the show is the recently redesigned grounds, which are laced with fruit trees and drought-tolerant plants and host an enclosed courtyard holding a saltwater pool and an inset spa surrounded by a Saltillo-tiled terrace, plus a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen, and multiple seating areas. A detached two-car garage on the nearly third-acre premises that Lewis used as a recording studio could easily be converted into an office or a gym.
Born and raised in London, the Grammy-nominated performer first achieved national acclaim in 2006 after winning the third season of the TV talent show X Factor. She subsequently released the hit single Bleeding Love and went on to record the official I See You theme song for the sci-fi film Avatar. Aside from her music career, she has also dabbled in acting and co-owns two vegan coffee shops in L.A.
